How It Works
This event will be played as a two person event, with each player playing a tee shot on each hole. The group then selects the best drive, which is played by its owner, while the other player retrieves their ball and plays on from the same position.
How A Hole Is Played
- The group selects the best drive, which is then played by its owner.
- The other player retrieves their ball and places it within one club length of the selected position (no closer to the hole), then plays their second shot.
- This procedure of selecting the best position continues until a ball is holed.
- When on the green, balls are placed within a scorecard length of the selected spot, no closer to the hole.
- The ball must always be placed on the same type of surface as the originating shot - i.e. if the ball chosen is in the sand, it must be placed in that same bunker.
Handicap & Key Rules
Minimum Drives
Each member of the team must also ensure at least 5 of their drives are taken over the 18 holes.
Handicap
This event will be played as a handicap event, where a fraction of the aggregate handicaps is used.
The handicap is calculated by adding the two handicaps together and dividing by 4. This handicap is then used to determine your daily handicap for the course and slope rating - e.g. Rohan is off 9.5 and Marcus is off 5.5, so you add the two together (15) and divide by 4, giving a handicap of 3.75. This is the same as 50% of the average.
