The short answer
A Handicap Round is a round you play with another golfer and submit through the app, so it counts towards your official handicap. You can score it live as you play, or nominate it first and submit once you've played.
Why it's worth doing
Your handicap stays accurate
Most clubs don't offer this option. Handicap Rounds let you submit the rounds you play with other golfers, even when you're not in a competition, which keeps your handicap accurate and up to date.
How it works
Everything starts from the Score tab in the app. Make sure Handicap Round is selected, then choose how you'd like to submit your round. Each round ends with your scores sent to Golf Australia for processing.

Every round ends here |
Option A: score live as you play
Tap Play Now and enter your score hole by hole as you go, with your marker scoring alongside you. When you finish, you sign and submit your card straight away. See Live Scoring
Option B: nominate, then submit
Tap Nominate Handicap Round to commit to a course and date ahead of time, then come back to submit your scores once you've played. To cancel a nomination, contact our support team. See Handicap Round Nominations
Don't have a handicap yet? You won't need to nominate any rounds. Just play and submit your scorecards directly.
Key things to remember
Before you submit
- You must play with at least one other golfer, who acts as your marker.
- Enter your score for every hole.
- You and your marker both sign the round in the app before it's submitted.
- The round must be played in strict accordance with the Rules of Golf.
- Submit your round within 3 days of playing it.
After you submit
Your stableford scores are calculated automatically based on your Daily Handicap, and your handicap is updated within 72 hours of the card being submitted. See How to calculate stableford points?
Failure to complete a Handicap Round may result in a No Score Not Approved against your handicap.
